ABOUT
The Tomasetti Coastal Environmental Science Lab at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has two primary goals:

-
Understand the dynamics of and impacts to coastal marine systems under intensifying anthropogenic pressures
-
Strengthen coastal communities through advancements in policy, restoration, conservation, and aquaculture
We focus on foundational, habitat-forming species and shellfish species including: Zostera marina and Ruppia maritima (seagrasses), Argopecten irradians (bay scallop), Crassostrea virginica (oyster), Mercenaria mercenaria (hard clam), and Callinectes sapidus (blue crab).
We welcome and value students of all backgrounds. Join us in our mission to create a more sustainable future for our coastal communities! If you are interested in joining our team, please reach out – we would love to hear from you.
